Parks Project with V Nature

Rebecca Upton

V Nature had a great time supporting Your Parks charity at their most recent volunteering session where they created Bug Hotels!

The Bug Hotel project kicked off with a solid cleanup operation around the bug hotel site.

Armed with an array of tools, the project leaders and their crew got down to business, sprucing up the park grounds to make it bug-friendly. Once the area was spick and span, it was time to pimp out the bug hotel itself. Built tough with bricks, it was a sturdy structure, but it needed some sprucing up inside. So, after some brainstorming sessions, the team came up with a cool idea: they decided to jazz up the bug hotel with an 'E' for 'environment'. They got crafty, using dog hair and twigs to weave the symbol into the design. It wasn't just a pretty addition; it was a nod to the project's green mission. Plus, they made sure not to waste any materials, filling up every nook and cranny to make it a cozy home for bugs.

V Nature meets regularly on Wednesday afternoons to plant trees, collect seeds and care for our local parks. It 's a lovely opportuntiy to connect with others while also contributing to our green spaces in Bath.

The following sessions are coming up:

- Wed 13 Mar 2024

- Wed 20 Mar 2024

V Teams, V Nature and V Clean projects also recently collaborated for the Your Parks “Love Your Park” event  which has been feature in Bath Voice!
