Who are we?
At the 93% Club Bath we are in our second year as a branch of the national charity! The 93% Club is the first and largest network of state-educated university students.
The 93% in our name represents the percentage of secondary school students across the UK that attend state schools. Yet, at the University of Bath, we account for just 69.9% of the intake.
This disparity extends past the University level, with 68% of FTSE 100 Chairs, 62% of Senior Judges and 50% of newspaper columnists being privately educated.
What are our aims?
We are a group of students with a mission to break down the divide between state and privately educated students, ensuring that we are not disadvantaged due to our educational background.
Our club aims to promote, enhance and up-skill our members, ultimately levelling the playing field for those from state educated backgrounds.
Feeling isolated as a state schooler at university? We aim to counter this by fostering a welcoming community where state school students can share experiences, access opportunities and uplift each other.
This year, we plan to:
- Host regular socials to meet other like-minded students.
- Provide networking and career relating events.
- Collaborate with other clubs within the SU and other branches of the national 93% Club.
Membership is FREE! We hope you will join us in being #stateschoolproud
