Whether you have a role in a society, group or club, perhaps you are Representative for your course or leaders in Language or Academic PAL, you are also a student leader in the SU. All voluntary roles within the SU count as Student Leaders!
Below you will find relevant training for your committee roles, Chair, Finance, Event Management, Welfare and Marketing. There are others too such as Food safety and Health and Safety which you will need for events, plus informative training such as Inclusion which will support your committee and its members,
As Chair you are expected to complete the Chair trainings alongside Finance. Treasurers are expected to complete Finance as well.
Finance training this year (2026/2027 AY) is being rolled out in September due to a finance system change. It can be found below from 14th September.
All remaining trainings on here will significantly support roles throughout the year, with Event Management, Food safety, Health and Safety covering aspects around risk assessments and planning events. Do try to ensure a variety of committee members have completed key ones below, related to your role and the events you plan to have, making them inclusive and safe for everyone.
New Safeguarding Training has been added from September too, this is mandatory for all student leaders to complete. It is in the interest of your own wellbeing and that of your peers
to understand and recognise how to deal with disclosures and when it may be safeguarding.
