Why I'm a winner
Duck Society was nominated for creating a fun, welcoming and inclusive community that brings students together through a shared love of campus wildlife. Through regular duck feeds and social events, the society gives students a chance to make friends, take a break from university pressures and enjoy being part of a positive community. The society has grown significantly this year, building an engaged membership and creating opportunities for students to connect through collaborations with other groups and environmental initiatives. Alongside its community-building work, the society has shown a real commitment to wildlife conservation, promoting responsible duck feeding, working with external organisations and campaigning for educational signage around the campus lake. Their efforts have benefited both the student experience and the wildlife that makes Bath’s campus unique.
