What We Do
Bath’s Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Society (more commonly known as BEAMES) is the engineering society for students at the University of Bath. Since its start in 2010, BEAMES has always represented a huge number of students who all share a common interest in engineering.
In the past, we have hosted a number of educational talks from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) along with great socials, including the annual ice-skating trip, free pizza events and nights out clubbing. These socials are the perfect opportunity to get to know people on your course and other societies. Feel free to bring any flatmates and friends along, everyone is welcome!
The 2020/21 academic year is set to be a great year for BEAMES! There will be plenty of socials and events throughout the year as well as (hopefully) another season playing in the Interdepartmental Football Competition!
We have a fully virtual programme planned with talks from companies, socials and challenges with the potential for face to face events as social distancing rules allow! We are aiming to be as inclusive as possible and allow people to join virtually if they are shielding while having a dynamic programme that responds to national and local guidelines
Reasons to Join Us
