What We Do

We are the Bath University Guides and Scouts (BUGS), a friendly and active society open to any student at the university, whether you have been a Guide or Scout before or not!

It’s hard to describe what our society does, because we do so much! But, in essence, we focus on:

  • Adventurous Activities (including hiking, boating, climbing, and fire-lighting)

  • Fun and Games

  • Skills Building (including crafts and baking)

  • Volunteering (with Scouts and Guides)

  • Camping

  • SSAGO Rallies (big events with similar clubs across the country)

So, if some or all of this appeals to you, give us a try! It’s only £5 to join for the year, and after that many of our activities are free.

Our events are held on different days each week so everyone can join in whatever your other commitments! There's usually lots on, so check out our events page to see what you would like to do.

Our first taster session of the year is Thursday 26th September - we are having a Freshers Campfire and would love to see you there. For details, see the Facebook event https://www.facebook.com/events/468838507046663/

For more information on what we're doing this semester, check out Our Programme, join our Facebook Group or email us at su-bugs@bath.ac.uk.
