What We Do

We are the Bath University Guides and Scouts (BUGS), a friendly and active society open to any student at the university, whether you have been a Guide or Scout before or not!

It’s hard to describe what our society does, because we do so much! But, in essence, we focus on:

  • Adventurous Activities (including hiking, boating, climbing, and fire-lighting)

  • Fun and Games

  • Skills Building (including crafts and baking)

  • Volunteering (with Scouts and Guides)

  • Camping

  • SSAGO Rallies (three camps and one formal ball with similar clubs across the country)

So, if some or all of this appeals to you, give us a try! Most of our activities are free and we will be running a partly virtual programme this semester, but we've tried to squeeze some face-to-face meetings where we can!

The Student Scout and Guide Organisation (SSAGO) are also running plenty of virtual events and challenge badges. You do not have to be a Scout or a Guide to join!

Our events are held on different days each week so everyone can join in whatever your other commitments! There's usually lots on, so check out our events page to see what you would like to do.

For more information on what we're doing this semester, check out Our Programme, join our Facebook Group or email us at su-bugs@bath.ac.uk.
