What We Do
The University of Bath is full of active, engaging individuals, with a zest for life and a desire to grow and learn. Yoga Society encompasses all these aspects: membership is open to all and so everyone can benefit from yoga in their own way. Incorporating both the spiritual and physical side of yoga, the Society brings together like-minded people to offer a different experience to the yoga classes on offer in the STV. We have amazing, well-qualified external teachers who come to campus to give weekly lessons, as well as offering several workshops run by specialist yogis and wonderful socials throughout the academic year.
We are a completely all inclusive society and encourage everyone and anyone to get involved; from currently practicing yogis to those that just want to try something fantastic and new, we look forward to getting to know you on your yoga journey!
Who doesn't love Savasana?!?! ?(Yes, having a lie down is an actual yoga pose, it's true). But really, there are so many benefits, and here's a few.
- Yoga helps to improve physical and mental well-being, making it the perfect activity to get into as an antidote to our busy uni lives.
- Yoga is not about how flexible you are, or how long you can meditate for. It's just time for you to relax and see what your body can do in that moment. It's completely non-competitive, and soley about you working with your body. Yoga gently stretches the muscles and improves posture, can lower blood pressure and reduce heart rate. If you play other sports yoga may help with injury prevention, or just general performance.
- If you want to try different styles of yoga, we also offer workshops throughout the year, where external teachers come in for a one off session. Acro-Yoga is just one of the many different styles that's been taught!
- Yoga society is full of lovely people, from first years to fourth years, guys and girls, beginners and those who have been doing it for years. You can meet them and everyone in between at one of our many socials throughout the year. This is just our third year as a society, and so dont worry, we're pretty new too.
We can't wait to meet you yogi's, old and new, and do some yoga!

As an extra when you buy membership this allows you to go to one class free! Just select the 'one free membership class' when signing up to a class on facebook.
Our classes are held at the following times:
16:00-17:00 Beginners - Emma - Edge Dance Studio
17:00-18:00 - All levels with focus on sports rehab - Emma - Edge Dance Studio
08:00-09:00 - All levels flow yoga - Mirella - Edge Dance Studio
1.15-2.15 - All levels flow yoga - Annie - CB 5.1 (subject to weekly change)
16:00-17:00 - All levels flow yoga - Mirella - Edge Dance Studio

If you are signed up to a class but cannot make it please message our facebook group 2 hours in advance. This allows us to take you off the list and refund the class pass whilst still allowing others to sign up to the class. We cannot refund class passes without this notice.
