What We Do
Welcome! We are BVGS - The official gaming society of Bath University. Whether you play video games casually in
your free time, competitively online, or want to get into competitive gaming properly, we offer many
opportunities for all! You can expect lots of fun at our LAN parties, and various events (such as quizzes,
cinema trips and console socials) throughout the year for our members!

We run LAN parties over the year, where we often showcase Virtual Reality with a HTC Vive and run
tournaments with a variety of prizes!

We field multiple competitive teams for all NUEL and NSE leagues: League of Legends, CS:GO, Dota 2,
Overwatch, Rocket League, and more!

Two video game themed pub quiz events - one before the first LAN, and a second in Spring.

Annual Christmas meal. (subject to change with COVID regulations)

Summer gaming - During the summer holidays, we run online gaming events and tournaments,
up until Freshers' Week!

In 2021/22 we were awarded a Gold Inclusivity award, based on our proactive goals towards
addressing the under-represented groups in our society!

In 2020/21 we were also awarded the "Most Inclusive Group" 20/21 Award, and
shortlisted for the "Best Overall Group" 20/21 Award!

We are not only partnered with NSE and the NUEL, we have numerous sponsorships in the
background and we're keen to secure the best opportunities for our members!

Our LAN Events - 2022/23
LAN events are multi day in-person events, where we invite all members and their friends to bring their
laptops/pcs to a venue on campus and have a massive LAN party. These usually feature freebies and drinks
from sponsors, alongside many tournaments, games and mini-events!
