Welcome to kayaking!! 🛶
The best sports club in Bath (even if we do say so ourselves).
We spend our free time doing all sorts of cool stuff - from whitewater kayaking to canoe polo tournaments across the country - but we also spend plenty of time learning new skills and training in the nice, warm university pool.
So, how can you get involved?
All abilities welcome! Whether you've never been in a kayak before or you're already an experienced paddler, come along and give it a go.
Taster sessions are held in the university pool in the STV throughout Freshers’ Week and the two following weeks.
What to bring: a swimming costume, shorts and T-shirt to wear in the pool, plus a towel and change of clothes for afterwards.
Where to meet: outside the STV entrance 15 minutes before your session - look for the paddles!
Swim test: The university requires everyone to complete a swim test before getting in a kayak. We’ll run this at the start of every pool taster session. You’ll need to:
Swim two lengths of the pool (100m total)
Tread water for 5 minutes
Climb out of the pool unassisted
For more info, including all our taster session times, check the What’s On page and Bath Uni Canoe Club socials (Instagram)
