The year is 2019, thirty-one years after the start of World War III. Set in Neo-Tokyo, an area rife with gang violence, Shoutarou Kaneda is the leader of once such motorcycle gang known as 'The Capsules'. But after his best friend, Tetsuo, is caught up with in a accident with a psychic, Shoutarou now finds himself developing his own mysterious powers as the government attempt to stop him from unleashing his city destroying powers. Considered one of the greatest anime movies of all time, Akira is a certified classic.
