What We Do

Welcome to the University of Bath Fencing club. Fencing is a sport on the rise here in Bath, and whether you’re an internationally experienced fencer or you’ve never picked up a sword in your life, you’ll find a place here at the University club.

Reasons to Join Us

Last year the club was awarded the University of Bath Club of the Year! This was an incredible achievement for the club and reflects the club's hard work competitively and also socially, providing a welcoming place for people to try and develop thier fencing.

We are one of the few fencing clubs in the nation with access to a fully specialised fencing salle. We offer beginners courses in Foil and Epee and Intermediate freeplay sessions for anyone looking to pick up fencing at university. We also offer a comprehensive advanced coaching schedule for the many national and international standard fencers across all three weapons studying here in Bath.

We have 3 teams entered in British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) leagues, and with strong links to other nearby Universities and community clubs, we take pride in the strength of Fencing here in Bath. Our Men's 1st Team achieved an impressive 3rd place in the fencing Premier League least year. Our Womens 1st Team secured an impressive 3rd place in the Western 1A league - their first year competing! Finally our Men's 2nd Team had an incredible season, winning the Western 2A league AND the winning the Western Conference Cup, finishing the season completely unbeaten!

In addition to our sporting offering, we have a thriving social scene within the club, providing a range of socials from relaxing movie nights to big nights out. Whether you have never even heard of fencing before or are an experienced fencer looking for a place to train and advance up the rankings, here at the University of Bath fencing club, there’s a place for you!
