Green Week is an exciting opportunity to celebrate our student body’s strong commitment to sustainability and our environment. Get involved with our programme of events from across campus, on social media and online. Help us to raise awareness, to connect with the world around us and to discover the new ways that you can “Be Green”!

Events include:

Monday 28 March 12:00 – 14:00

People and Planet Stand on the Parade

Visit People and Planet on the Parade to learn about Ecosia, the new default search engine for the University, they will also be discussing their Lab sustainability project and vegan awareness.

Tuesday 29 March 15:00 – 16:30

Poetry Workshop

Join Poet, Beth Calverly and learn to write your own poetry in this free workshop with SU Arts.

Get to know like-minded over a delicious vegan dish prepared by VegSoc and People & Planet at Dartmouth Avenue.

Human Rights and The Climate Crisis

Join People & Planet and Amnesty in discussing human rights’ issues amidst the climate crisis. Hear some key information about the topic, share some thoughts and ask questions.

Protest for the Climate, The Parade 

Join students and staff using their voices to protest for urgent action to face climate change. The University has set Net Zero targets for 2040, goals which necessitate an institution wide approach. This is a call for immediate action.

Sunday 3 April 14:00 - 16:00 Art Studio, The Edge

Best Out of Waste - Reuse your waste to revamp your room! Grab some milk cartons, waste cardboard boxes from your latest Amazon parcel or used glass bottles and give them a makeover.

Sunday 3 April 10:00 - 13:00, Dry Arch Growers

V Trees - This will involve doing some weeding, vegetation clearance and lifting some saplings for transplanting.
