The University of Bath Gymnastics Club is open to gymnasts of all levels of experience from complete beginner to seasoned competitor. In fact, most of our members had never done gymnastics before university.
We train twice a week at Baskerville's Gymnastics Center in Oldfield Park, just a short bus ride away from campus. Our Monday training session is for everyone and consists of a warm up, followed by skills training on different equipment and a quick cool down. We have qualified coaches running the session who will teach you skills on different apparatus and talk you through all the progressions.
Our Thursday session is for more experienced gymnasts as we have a bit more of a free reign of the gym without any dedicated coaching. If you have done gymnastics before university this may be more suited for you, please contact one of our committee members so we can discuss your previous experience. If you are new to gymnastics at university you can come long once you've learned some basic skills and can safely train independently.
We have student-run Conditioning & Flexibility classes Tuesdays, Saturdays & Sundays to help you build your strength and flexibility to improve the skills you've learned in the gym. These are held online via our MS Teams group so you can do them from the comfort of your home.
We also have skills practice sessions in the Sports Training Village on campus every Sunday to recap and perfect key gymnastics skills such as handstands, forward rolls, cartwheels and roundoffs.

Reasons to Join Us
We feel it would have been easier to explain the reasons not to join us, because quite frankly there aren't any!
Joining us gives you access to all training sessions and competitions/shows available. However, we are a very easy-going club and will not pressure you into anything, whether you are a seasoned gymnast, or are just starting. we will provide all the help you need, whether it is improving your handstands, or perfecting your backflips.
Joining also means you get to come to our fun socials which include themed nights out, cake & movie nights and trips to trampoline parks.
But let's all be honest, the biggest reason for you to join us is that we can teach you to do really cool things you can show off to your friends!
How to Join
The SU has created a new All-Sport Membership for this semester, giving you access to all 50 sport clubs for only £20! You can get yours now by going here (make sure you have registered with the university and are signed into the thesubath.com website before buying this). Once you have your membership, you'll be able to get your free gymnastics membership at the top left of this page. On the purchase confirmation page, make sure you click the link to our MS Teams group as this is where we'll organise club activities throughout the semester.
