Putting global responsibility at the heart of engineering We have no planet B

Want to use your skills to make a real difference? 🌍

Engineers Without Borders Bath is a student community passionate about building a more sustainable and equitable world through engineering, creativity and collaboration. Whether you're studying engineering, another STEM degree, or simply want to get involved, there’s a place for you!

This year, we’ll be taking on exciting design challenges, including the EWB UK Chapters Design Challenge, while also getting creative with fun challenges and activities — last year we even put our design skills to the test with a gingerbread house design challenge! 🏠✨

We’re also keen to make a real impact beyond the university. Through outreach opportunities with schools and young people, you’ll have the chance to inspire the next generation, share your enthusiasm for engineering and make engineering feel more accessible to everyone.

Getting involved with EWB is a great way to develop practical skills and experiences that you can put on your CV, from teamwork and problem-solving to leadership, communication and project management. You’ll also meet like-minded people, make new friends and become part of a community that cares about creating positive change.

Alongside challenges and outreach, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to get involved in activities, fundraising and socials throughout the year.

No experience needed — just curiosity, creativity and a willingness to get involved! Come along, try something new and help us build a world of opportunity. Join the movement! 💚

With our Outreach Programme, we visit local schools to deliver engaging and informative workshops, inspiring young people to think more about sustainability, and to get invovled in STEM subjects to make positive change to our planet.

Our members become ambassadors for the society as they join us in running fun interactive workshops in local classrooms and at science fairs. They develop new skills and confidence while helping to make a difference to young people’s lives.

The workshops are designed to inform and inspire young people about global development issues. There are two key workshops that we deliver to young people, that are created by the EWB charity - 'Power for Everyone Everywhere' and  'Water for Everyone Everywhere', that explore the role of engineers in ensuring equal, sustainable access to electricity and water respectively.

If you are interested in getting involved please keep an eye out. When outreach positions are available, we will let you know via our Instagram and Whatsapp group.
