Location: Bristol, Keynsham, Bath area
Hours: Part-time, flexible. Approximately 16 hours a week in college holidays and one or two Saturday afternoons every month
Pay: £14 per hour
Essential Requirements
- Ideally male (due to unlikely but possible personal care needs) but female considered.
- Similar age (approx. 18-30) to encourage natural friendship
- Full, clean driving licence
- Access to your own car

We’re looking for a friendly, kind, positive gentle, outgoing and reliable male (or possibly female) companion to support a 19-year-old fun-loving young man with Down syndrome. He is very sporty, gentle, full of humour, and loves getting out and about. This role is all about friendship, encouragement, and enjoying activities together.
About Him
He’s a bright, sociable young man who has achieved his Gold Duke of Edinburghs and has competed in national swim competitions as well as attended many scout camps! He is currently learning to be a life saver and also volunteers as a scout young leader and is a recognised coach with the Bristol City Football Club Pan primary age disability team.
He loves:

He thrives when he’s active, included, and spending time with someone close to his own age who shares his enthusiasm for life.
About the Role
You’ll be:
- Accompanying him to activities and helping him get the most out of them
- Providing encouragement, company, and gentle support and safety
- Helping with occasional personal care (male applicants ideally due to the nature of care)
- Driving him to and from activities (mileage for longer distances provided)
- All entry fees will be covered
- Helping and accompanying him on the local bus for days out
