Students’ Union SU Shop Assistant 

Salary

CW4 £15.53 per hour (including holiday pay)

Hours

2x 4 hour shifts on weekdays. We are looking for a regular time that can be worked around your schedule. You should be available in Bath from Friday 18 September 2026 to support the shop opening during Freshers’ Week.

Interviews will take place online on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 September 2026.

 Details

The Students’ Union is looking for a Shop Assistant to work in the SU Shop, which is due to open in September 2026 on level 2 of the SU.

Key responsibilities include:

• Selling SU Shop products to customers in person
• Processing and administering customer collections
• Preparing and packing orders for delivery
• Conducting regular stock counts and assisting with inventory management

We are looking for an individual who can commit to 2x 4 hour shifts at regular times on weekdays but can work around your schedule. For example, shifts could be every week at 10:00 – 14:00 on a Monday and 12:00 – 16:00 on a Thursday.

• Excellent customer service skills
• Great attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to manage set tasks in what could be a busy environment
• Previous retail experience is desirable but not essential

• Strong communication skills 

 Skills and experience

• Retail or Customer service experience 
• Experience in card payments and till operations
• The role will involve a certain amount of manual handling related to moving stock and boxes around the shop.
