Details

Department Retail Operations (Campus Services).

University of Bath are looking for a casual supervisor to join their retail team in the Market store on campus starting from mid to late September.

Are you passionate about delivering great customer service? Are you friendly, reliable, and able to work as part of a team?

About you

Working in our stores means that you are the face of our lively campus outlets. At our Market store, we offer a wide range of choice for our customers and strive to deliver excellent customer service. If applying for this role, previous supervisory experience will be preferred but is not essential, but you will need retail/hospitality experience.

About the role

Casual Retail Supervisor weekends - you will be supporting the team on Saturdays and Sundays* with opening and closing the store.

Tasks will include:

  • ensuring the store is safe to open
  • receiving and storing deliveries following food safety procedures
  • making sure shelves are full and tidied and locking up the store.

You’ll be given additional training to be able to answer customer queries on allergens, complete basic refunds and deal with any other issues as they arise. This role will be working both weekend days: Saturday 08:45- 16:15 and Sunday 11:45 - 19:45. If you can only work one weekend shift, however, we would need you to be available for a midweek shift from 15:15 - 20:15.

How to apply

Interested? please email an overview of relevant experience with your CV, when you are able to start work and include contact details to TheMarket@bath.ac.uk. It would be helpful to add whether you can work both weekend days or just one weekend date with a midweek shift.

The Home Office provides guidance on what evidence to provide if you are offered a role. If you have a British or Irish passport, you will need to show the original to the team as part of your onboarding so we recommend making arrangements to have your right to work documentation with you for when interviews will be arranged.

Prior to starting work in store, attendance at a classroom-based training course in September is required. All training time is paid.

Applications close midnight Sunday 23 August 2026.
