JP Maths is looking for friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Maths tutors to join our growing online tutoring team from October 2026.

This is a flexible, part-time role that would be particularly suitable for a university student studying Mathematics or a related subject who is looking to gain tutoring or teaching experience alongside their studies.

About the role

You will provide 1-to-1 online GCSE Maths tuition to students through JP Maths. Lessons are delivered online and are typically one hour long.

You will initially be matched with 1–3 regular students per week, with the opportunity to take on additional students as new enquiries come in.

All lesson resources and materials are provided by JP Maths, including access to our GCSE Maths Revision Hub, worksheets, exam-style questions and revision resources. You will not be expected to create lesson materials from scratch, making the role easy to fit around your existing university or work commitments.

We are looking for tutors who:

• Have a strong understanding of GCSE Mathematics
• Are studying Mathematics or a related degree, or have recently graduated
• Can explain mathematical concepts clearly and patiently
• Are friendly, encouraging and able to build confidence in students
• Are reliable and able to commit to regular weekly lessons
• Are comfortable delivering lessons online
• Have access to a tablet and compatible stylus/digital pen that can be used to write and demonstrate mathematical working clearly during online lessons
• Are confident using technology to deliver interactive online lessons, including screen sharing and writing digitally in real time

Previous tutoring or teaching experience is helpful but not essential. Guidance, support and all teaching resources will be provided.

Hours

The role is designed to be flexible around university studies. Most tuition takes place during weekday evenings and weekends.

You will initially teach approximately 1–3 hours per week, with scope to increase your hours as JP Maths continues to grow.
