Welfare & Inclusivity

If you feel you need any welfare support, the university has a comprehensive list of services on offer to students in Bath.

We strive to ensure that the BUMC and all of our activites are as welcoming and inclusive to every student as possible.

What do we do?

  • No pressure at socials - There is absolutely no pressure to do anything at any of our socials. We do not have initiations and you will always find people not drinking. Everyone is always up for a chat so come along!
  • Sober Socials - whilst you there is no pressure to drink at any of our socials, these events (e.g. film nights, laser quest, ice skating etc...) are especially relaxed!
  • Postgrad sessions - at the start of both semesters we run tasters specifically for postgrads, and throughout the year we run events and trips at the weekends and in the evenings so that postgrads can attend.
  • Disabled Climbing Sessions - Local climbing walls often put on events which specifically cater for people with disabilities. Keep an eye out for us advertising these through the year.
  • Womens Climbing Sessions - it can sometimes be inimidating to try a new sport, so we run climbing sessions just for women throughout the year. Keep an eye on our socials!
  • Talks from GB Paraclimbers - Club alumni Jesse Dufton is a blind GB paraclimber who is currently ranked 4th in the world for sport climbing! He has come in to speak to us about trad climbing as a blind climber (!!)
  • James Rudge has recently spoken to us about how GB paraclimbing works, the categories involved and the incredible variety in climbers and techniques they employ
  • Regular walking - Take the opportunity to relax with walks through the countryside around Bath. If you want to go walking on your own, we have a list of recommended walks.

Postgrads

We always see a good number of postgrads at our events, socials and trips, so do come along! Keep an eye out for events specifically for postgrads advertised throughout the year.

Health Declaration Form

We are currently working with SU Advice and Support to find the best way for you to declare health conditions. Keep an eye on your emails and this page for an update when we get something sorted.
