The Students’ Union and the University of Bath are delighted to have awarded 218 students the Bath Award for 2025–26.
The Bath Award recognises students’ commitment to personal and professional development alongside their academic studies, celebrating the wide range of contributions they make beyond the classroom.
This year marked a successful pilot of the award, building on work initiated by the 2024/25 SU Officers. One of their Top Ten Issues was to “formalise an institutional policy regarding recognition of student leadership roles through providing credit and recognition on transcripts.”
Whilst the Bath Award does not currently appear on academic transcripts, it represents a significant step forward in acknowledging the value of students’ extracurricular achievements and leadership.
Sam Ellis Hunt, SU Activities Officer, said: “We are so thrilled that the pilot year for the Bath Award has been such a huge success. We know a huge number of the students who have achieved the award are leaders within The SU, and it’s fantastic to see their hard work recognised more widely. We look forward to seeing how the Bath Award develops in future years.”
Congratulations to all the amazing award winners and a huge thank you to all the staff and SU Officers who have supported this process within The SU and across the University.
