Another Varsity win for Bath!

Another Varsity win for Bath!

Last week was an exciting one as we headed to Cardiff Met University for the annual Varsity, where sports clubs from both Universities compete against each other to take home not only the glory of being Varsity champions- but that big shiny trophy as well.

The atmosphere was electric as we bought along 24 teams comprising of over 300 athletes and 700 spectators to cheer us on. The sea of blue and gold stood out amongst the Cardiff colours and the spectators kept the games alive throughout the day – even in the pouring rain!

We left Bath on a five year winning streak… and returned as Varsity champions once again (as if there was any doubt)!

The final score was Bath 79 and Cardiff was 41. Here are the individual scores across the day and some of our favourite moments:

We were particularly blown away by the weightlifters who did an amazing job- we were tired just watching them! We were also so impressed by Men’s Basketball who managed to keep the score close the entire game before securing a win at the end. Unfortunately, we couldn’t be victorious in everything- poor Duck Norris was defeated by Dylan the Dragon in the Mascot Race… we blame the feet!

Campus TV were also on hand across the entire day to capture some of the best moments- take a look at their highlights in the video below.

The coaches returned everyone to campus, where many of you headed for a night of celebrating at SCORE- it was amazing to see the crowd such a sea of blue and gold. The day was absolutely brilliant from start to finish- you can check out some more highlights on our Instagram page.

We wanted to say a big well done to everyone who competed and a special thank you to all our spectators who provided the best support and made us proud to be Bath- bring on a 7-year winning streak next year!
