Green Week is back and this year is geared up to be more impactful than ever with events ranging from a talk with an award winning marine biologist to blind brownie tasting. This is a super exciting opportunity to showcase our strong commitment to sustainability and the environment while getting involved with a range of different activities. Join along either on social media or across campus and help us raise awareness of different ways we can ‘Be Green!’

We have some really exciting events coming up, including:

Monday 6 March

Get involved in a lively discussion about the new Green Policies adopted during COP 27.

Monday 6 March 

Chocolate Brownie Blind Tasting Challenge- 12:30 – 14:00, The Parade
Head down to The Parade for some blind brownie tasting, with Vegan and Non Vegan options available.

Wednesday 8 March 

V Nature – Tree Planting- 13:00
Make a difference and help plant some new trees around Campus with V Nature.

Wednesday 8 March

FREE online plant-based cooking course for University of Bath students and staff.

Thursday 9 March 

External speaker talk on the basic of Fairtrade- Nicky Hoskyns - 16:00, Zoom Call
Jump onto Zoom to join an impactful discussion on Fairtrade, led by Nicky Hoskyns. He is the CEO of Etico The Ethical Trading Company and is based in Nicaragua. He works with a range of Fairtrade (FT) co-ops and has over two decades of experience operating in FT and social business networks.

Green Debate – Debating Society - 18:15, CB 5.1
Is the recent government decision to reopen the coal fired power plants the solution to the energy crisis? Join the Debating Society as they discuss.

Friday 10 March

Fairtrade and Sustainable Market, Claverton Rooms 10:30 - 12:30
Browse the Market, with stalls run by Tony’s Chocolonely, Bewley’s Coffee, a Green smoothie demonstration, a fairtrade clothing market, Divine chocolate bar sampling and more! The coffee cart will be set up in the Claverton Room foyer and the rest of the stalls can be found in the conference room and events area upstairs.

Friday 10 March

Dive into ‘The Story of an Unusual Chocolate Bar’ which will look at the systematic problems in the chocolate industry and how Tony’s is challenging the status quo in creating ethical great tasting chocolate.
 

Friday 10 March

Carbon Literacy Training sign-up stall in front of the library 12:00 - 16:00

Come and have a chat with the University Climate Champions and academic staff to find ways in which students can explore key issues of climate science and climate justice.

Saturday 11 March 

Litter Pick up, V Clean and Bath City Council -  14:00 - 15:30, Meet in front of the Tesco on Bathwick Hil
Make a difference to the city and join Bath City Council to help with litter picking.
 

All Week

V Collect/Genesis Donations point 6 - 14 March 

V Collect are running a collection in aid of Genesis. We are hoping to collect as many items as possible to help vulnerable people in the community. Please bring any of the following items (file attached above) to the collection points located in the library foyer, outside the market and at the entrance to the STV. Thank you for your support.
