Green Impact is a United Nations award-winning programme designed to support and recognise sustainable practices within organisations. Each year, the programme assesses sustainability initiatives and awards participating organisations a rating based on their achievements.
We are delighted to have received a 'Very Good' rating this year, highlighting The SU's ongoing commitment to sustainability and positive environmental impact.
Some of the initiatives that have helped us secure this award are:
- Introducing the SUstainable Student Forum
- Launching brand-new Sustainability webpages with a clear focus and direction
- Working with the University through the Top Ten Issues process to support a revised Sustainability Strategy
- Creating the Sustainability Award and Sustainability Badge
- Launching a comprehensive Sustainability Action Plan
Take a look back at Sam’s previous blog to find out a bit more on the above. The Sustainability Solution. You can also view our Sustainability webpages for all the details on our action plan.
These achievements represent significant progress, but we know there is still more to do. We remain committed to building on this success and continuing the important work started by our former SU Activities Officer, Sam. By following our Sustainability Action Plan, we will ensure sustainability remains a key focus across The SU.
To learn more about our sustainability journey, take a look back at Sam's blog, The Sustainability Solution where he explores many of the initiatives highlighted above. You can also visit our Sustainability webpages for full details of our Sustainability Action Plan and future commitments.
If you want to find get involved in any way, please do reach out to Nic our Activities Officer suactivities@bath.ac.uk who will lead on this work over the next academic year.
