Overnight drainage, survey and resurfacing works on the A367 Wellsway from 2 to 20 November, and at Bear Flat from 16 to 22 November.
Bath & North East Somerset Council has informed the Students' Union of a programme of overnight drainage, survey and resurfacing works will take place on the A367 Wellsway between Midford Road and Hatfield Road from 2 to 20 November, and at Bear Flat from 16 to 22 November.
Restrictions will generally apply from 20:00 to 06:00 the following morning. However, works will start at Bear Flat at 23:00 on Monday 16.
Carrying out this work together will reduce the overall period of disruption, and we apologise in advance for any inconvenience.
Road and lane restrictions, and temporary parking suspensions, will vary throughout the programme.
The main overnight restrictions on the A367 Wellsway, Bath are:
- 2 and 3 November: Closure of the Midford Road/Wellsway junction with access via Frome Road or Bradford Road, plus two-way lights on the Wellsway near Midford Road.
- 4 and 5 November: Two-way lights near the Hatfield Road junction
- 9 and 10 November: Closure of the southbound lane between Midford Road and Hatfield Road, towards Odd Down
- 11 and 12 November: Closure of the northbound lane closure between Midford Road and Hatfield Road, towards Bath
- 16 to 22 November: Bear Flat junction closed in both directions
During road closures, longer signed diversions via Lower Bristol Road, the A39, A37 and Midsomer Norton will be in place for heavy goods vehicles, but alternative routes will be available for local traffic. Pedestrian access is maintained. Construction crews will assist with emergency vehicle access.
Buses will be on diversion. For information about bus routes, diversions and temporary stops, visit Travelwest routes and timetables.
People travelling through the area should allow extra time, plan their journey, and check for bus diversions before travelling.
