Welcome to the University of Bath Padel Society!
Membership
Membership is £40 for the year. Once you’ve joined, our weekly sessions are free: no per-session charge and no court hire fees. It also gives you access to our tournaments, socials and Padel Tour Trip.
Sessions are members only from Wednesday 14 October 2026. Tickets are released each week on our WhatsApp group, so make sure you’ve joined it. Places are limited, so we’d recommend getting your membership sorted early.
Weekly Sessions
Wednesdays, 14:00 to 16:00, at The Padel Team, Bristol. Sessions are open to all levels, and rackets and balls are provided, so all you need is sports kit and trainers.
The easiest way to get there is by train from Bath Spa to Bristol Temple Meads, then a 15 minute walk. We’re also working on a car share system so that as few of you as possible have to pay for the train.
Competitive Padel (NUPL)
2026/27 is Bath’s first season in the National University Padel League. We play in the South West Conference against Cardiff, Bristol, Plymouth and others. We now have a squad of 12 men and 6 women, with two pairs competing in each of our two men’s divisions and our one women’s division.
Our main NUPL fixtures are:
- 23 October 2026
- 27 November 2026
- 12 February 2027
Further details will be shared with the selected players.
Selected players will pay an additional fee covering training sessions at Padel People in Corsham and tournament entry fees. More details will be shared with the team.
Tournaments
We’ll aim to run a tournament every month, usually with a different theme or format, including Halloween, mixed doubles, level-based competitions and more.
Tournaments will be a chance to play more competitively, meet other members and have some fun off the weekly sessions. There will also be prizes for winners, with more details announced closer to each tournament.
Socials
Socials are every Wednesday evening in Bath, each with a different theme. Our first one was a secret missions night, with everyone in padel kit fancy dress, and next up is a football shirt pub crawl. It’s the best way to meet people from across the club, whatever your level.
Padel Tour Trip
In Semester 2 we’re planning a club trip to Spain or Portugal. We’re in contact with organisers and will share details later in the year. To be confirmed.
Locations and Times
All weekly sessions take place at The Padel Team Bristol, 1 Barrow Rd, Bristol BS5 0HU, from 14:00-16:00 unless specified otherwise.
We do not currently offer transport to members, but we recommend various means of reaching the training ground:
1. Personal vehicle/carpooling - suitable for experienced drivers with insurance.
- Travel time - roughly 40 minutes from Bath City Centre.
2. Train - suitable for all. We will recommend train times and encourage members to travel in groups.
- Travel time: roughly 11 minutes by train, followed by a 20-minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads to The Padel Team Bristol.
