Nightline

About us
We are a student-run, confidential, and non-judgmental peer-to-peer support listening service for students here at the University of Bath. We are open from 8pm to 8am every night of term and our trained volunteers are happy to listen to anything you may wish to discuss. Nothing is too difficult or too trivial to be worth mentioning. We won’t judge you or tell you what to do. We will simply listen to whatever is on your mind.
What can I contact Nightline about?
We receive all sorts of calls, from students who have nothing on their mind and just want to chat, to students who are highly distressed and need urgent support. Below are some examples of calls we receive.

Announcement: Bath Nightline closure next year
It is with a heavy heart that after 45 years of service, Bath Nightline will sadly be closing at the end of this year. This decision was not made lightly, and as a committee we met with the SU and University multiple times to discuss our options and share student and volunteer feedback. However, the recent closure of the Nightline Association, has meant the SU and University feel it is not feasible to continue supporting the running of Nightline.
We know this is not the outcome that we hoped for, but we are so thankful to all of you who have supported us and the work we do. We hope that in our final month we can continue to deliver a high quality service to support you however you need us. The exam period can be especially stressful, so remember we are still open till the end of this academic year! And you can contact us from 8pm to 8am with the number on the back of your library card or IM by visiting our "Want to Talk?" section.
We appreciate this news may be alarming, and we ourselves are still figuring out what it’ll mean going forward. But if you have any questions or concerns, please do get in touch with Liz and Helen in SU Advice (suadvice@bath.ac.uk) or our coordinators (dh895@bath.ac.uk and cwmc22@bath.ac.uk).
