Tasters Beginners Course

Give it a go!

Join us during Freshers Week for free taster sessions. No experience or club membership required just sign up to a 30 minute taster session and have a go! Unfortunately during Semester 2 we will NOT be opening our memberships to new beginner archers. This means we are not running any taster session during Refreshers due to capacity reasons.

For those already with a membership and would like a refresh or to finish their Beginners Course, they can do so by signing up to a session on the 7th & 10th of February 2024 (you have to be logged in to be able to see the available slots).

See below for details of sessions or here to sign up directly.

Beginners Course

If you enjoyed the give it a go session, you should make sure to get a club membership and join the beginners course. The beginners course consists of four sessions during which you will learn more about technique, equipment, and different bowstyles. After completing the beginners course you will be able to join the open experienced sessions. All equipment will be provided. To complete the beginners course, we ask that you sign up to one session per week out of the below. Please note that session capacity is limited. Sign ups for the whole week will be available from 12noon on the Friday before on the sign ups page. All beginners course sessions start in Week 2 of the academic year (week commencing 09/10/23).

Archery is an inclusive sport. If you have any requirements please do get in touch in advance (su-archery@bath.ac.uk) so we can work out how to support you best.

A jeans and t-shirt or long sleeve shirt is fine to shoot in; avoid baggy clothing. Please tie back long hair, remove upper body piercings if you can, and wear closed shoes.
