Frequently Asked Questions:
Competitive or Casual
- Competitive: We attend BUCS (indoor & outdoor), SWWU, and other inter-university events. External competitions are also available (self-funded)
- Casual: Recreational shooting is always welcome. You can join intra-club and local competitions if you wish. Have an ideas to make shoots more fun? Talk to a committee member!
Shoot Schedule
- 3 to 5 shoots a week, please sign up before as spaces are limited for safety. Limits may apply to ensure fair access
- If you are unable to come to a shoot, please unsign up from the session
- Indoor shoots run all year round in the STV Sprint Track. Outdoor shoots run from March onwards on Wednesdays and Sundays in Sulis
- If you are UNDER 18 you MUST provide parental consent BEFORE participating in any archery activity. The relevant form can be obtained by emailing the club or through this link

What to Wear
- Comfy clothes, no baggy sleeves or open-toe shoe. Please tie back long hair, and tape/remove upper-body piercings
- Dress appropriately for the weather during outdoor shoots
Memberships & Costs
- SU Sports Membership: £35 - one-off cost for the whole year
- Archery Club Membership: £10 - standard membership price to join a sport club for the year
- Beginners Course: £20 - required if you are new to archery and have not yet completed a Beginners Course (at Bath or another Archery Club)
- This covers the use of club equipment, Archery GB Membership, coaching, and most transport (except BUCS)
Bow Types & Draw Weights
- Mainly we shoot recurve & barebow but of course welcome the various styles available. We have a small selection of longbows, compound, and Jelly Bows (for lighter draw) that are available to use or try. Equipement has draw weights ranging from 16lb to 30+lb
- If you have your own equipment, feel free to use it at shoots
