Our Club

The University of Bath Cricket Club (UBVCC) offers opportunities for cricketers of all abilities to develop their game and represent the University. We operate three Men's teams; a 1st XI team in the BUCS League, a BUCS development team, a recreational team and one Women’s’ team. We also have an indoor cricket team; ‘Bath Blue Storm’ which plays in a local indoor league to ensure competition over the winter.

Whether you like to play recreational cricket or competitively, there is a team for you in the UBVCC. With an array of social opportunities such as: Wednesday nights, Cheltenham Races, Wednesday Golf; we at the UBVCC push the boundaries so that we meet every student's needs on and off the pitch.

Reasons to Join Us

Squads, Matches and Training

The University of Bath Cricket Club is one of the biggest clubs in the university with one of the largest student memberships. We provide state of the art facilities and have very close links to Bath CC, one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the country. This allows us to train at their superb indoor facilities and play our BUCS games at Bath CC, providing a very high standard of cricket. Also, we are fortunate to have a coach from Bath CC, Robert Maggs, who will ensure players at the UBVCC develop and grow as crickets throughout the winter.

Anyone can train at least twice a week in our recreational slots (Mondays and Fridays). Each squad then has it's own allocated slot to train in at Founders Hall.

We have themed socials every other Wednesday! Members from all over the club attend these socials (including social members), so you don't have to perform with bat or ball to come. Most of our socials begin at the gorgeous Bath CC, followed by a U1 back up to campus for SCORE!

Also, we have other annual events at the UBVCC. These include: Snowball - a Christmas dinner at Bath CC followed by a Christmas themed SCORE, a Chelteham Races Day. More events will also be taking place throughout the year!

One benefit of joining our club is that we have heavily discounted membership to Lansdown Golf Club - only £13 a month! As cricket is predominantly a summer sport and we rarely play sport on a Wednesday afternoon before April/May, regular outings to Lansdown Golf Club will be happening on Wednesdays during the rest of the year.

So if you enjoy a bit of Golf or want to begin to play, this is just another reason why the UBVCC is the club for you

Social Media

Make sure to join our Facebook group (University of Bath Cricket Club), follow us on Twitter (@UOBathCricket) and Instagram (@UBVCC) to keep up to date with all of the latest happenings and ventures at the Cricket Club.

Coronavirus Precautions

At the UBVCC we want to keep safe during this Coronavirus period. We will have social distancing measures in place at training and socials, to make sure that we can keep ourselves and others safe - inline with government and ECB guidelines and regulations.

If we re-enter lockdown at any point during the year, we have contingency plans to allow us to function as a club whilst staying safe. These include zoom socials, watchalongs and poker nights.
