Our Freshers’ Fair Webinar is the place to find out the details for everything that goes on within our club and ask any and all questions you might have.

Our Rec and Beginner Coordinator will talk about the opportunities you have to learn how to sail whether you’ve had any previous experience or not through on the water coaching as well as onshore sessions.

Our Team Captain will talk about everything on the competitive side of sailing. He will talk about team racing, the major type of competitive sailing at university, how to get involved with that through trials and the various training that goes on throughout the year. Not forgetting the events where we compete against other universities around the country. He will also talk about some other competitive opportunities on offer such as match racing and yachting.

Our social secretaries will talk to you about some of their plans for the social side of things this year, what they generally consist of week in and week out and how they might be adapted for the virtual world.

A couple of other things we will be talking about include our Summer Sail Week which is our annual yachting trip in the summer as well as our annual alumni event.

There’ll be plenty of opportunity for questions at the end of each section too where we can clarify anything you might be unsure of.

BUMC Charity Backyard Ultra Marathon

The event will consist of a 6.7km loop run on/around campus that entrants must run once an hour, within an hour, every hour for up to 24 hours.
