We support, represent and bring together LGBT+ students of the University of Bath.
Who are we?
We are a diversity and support group that runs free regular meetings, socials, and events. We have a friendly and approachable committee that is knowlegeable about all things LGBT+, and is aware of the intersectional difficulties faced by many students.
We have a dedicated Trans+ representative (representing transitioning, questioning, GNC and intersex students), and the rest of committee is very trans positive. We run the su-transgender@bath.ac.uk and lgbt@bath.ac.uk inboxes. :)
What do we do?
We welcome all - whether you're certain and open with your sexuality/gender identity or just questioning. You can be involved as much or as little as you want; some members just attend meetings, others just our socials and many come along to just about everything, whatever you want to do is fine!
This year (25/26), we are running two regular events:
- A weekly social called "the queer lounge", which aims to be a chill space for all LGBT+ students and allies. On the first week of each month, the topic will have a POC focus (all are welcome!).
- A weekly support group for trans+ students called "T-time". This will be a trigger-free zone to meet with other trans+ students, to listen about and share your experiences. The first half tends to be more structured, and the second half is "supportive sharing".
