Movember once again brought students and staff together with the shared mission to “Grow, Move, or Host” raising vital awareness and funds for men’s mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.
Movember once again brought students and staff together with the shared mission to “Grow, Move, or Host” raising vital awareness and funds for men’s mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. Driven by the hard work of students and SU staff across campus, Bath’s Movember fundraising grew from £50,000 last year to an impressive £63,800, making this our biggest year so far.
Bath also ranked sixth out of 120 universities nationally, a fantastic achievement and testament to the commitment of our students, clubs, staff, and donors. The campaign is not only about fun moustaches and creative challenges, but also about starting conversations that matter and supporting lifesaving projects worldwide.
This year’s fundraising and participation reached record levels, showing just how powerful our SU community can be when students come together for a shared cause. Across the SU, more than 40 teams and nearly 600 individuals took part, the highest level of participation Bath has ever seen, organising everything from 100-hour charity cycles and 24-hour rowing challenges to ultra-marathons, bake sales, charity ball, themed socials, and club-versus-club charity tournaments.
Club Teams Leading The Charge
The Students’ Union is proud to recognise the top-performing fundraising clubs this year:
- University of Bath Rugby Club, the standout fundraiser, contributing an incredible £31,181.75 through a range of events and high-energy activities (sometimes very high-energy), they have even won 2nd place for the big Moustache on Campus UK Challenge!
- University of Bath Hockey Club, raising £6,886 for Movember throughout different events
- UBVCC (Bath Cricket Club), raising £6,721.17, securing 3rd place on the SU leaderboard
These three clubs set a remarkable benchmark, demonstrating exceptional dedication and creativity throughout the campaign. However, the true achievement lies in the collective effort from all sports teams and societies across the SU, all working hard together to deliver events, challenges, and fundraising activities for Movember.
A Big Thank You
Whether you grew a moustache, ran 60km, rowed at 03:00, baked cakes, organised an event, or simply donated, your involvement made a real difference. Movember is more than a fundraising initiative; it encourages meaningful conversations, allows us to check in with friends, and supports men who are struggling, often silently.
We are deeply grateful for the dedication, energy and generosity shown by our entire community.
