Rowing can be as intensive or as relaxed as you want it to be, but training sessions on the water and in the gym are focused to allow us to compete at some of the best events and regattas in the country such as the Head Of the River Race (HORR) (Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race course, London), BUCS Regatta, Metropolitan Regatta (2012 Olympic site, Dorney Lake), and the incredible Henley Royal Regatta.
This is a highly competitive “club” group trains 6 days a week. Most training will be done together and will consist of a mixture of water sessions, weights and ergs. Early in the season there will be a focus on small boats and technical skills moving into larger boats through the winter.
The Novice Men's Squad is the best way to get into rowing and join a great social club at the same time! Anyone can try rowing and it's a great way to meet new people. As all novices begin with no experience, everyone develops and improves together which leads to a good crew atmosphere, many strong friendships and plenty of racing experience by the end of the year.
If you want any more information about joining the men's novice team then email our Novice Captains Henry McLeod (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Tom Stevens (email@example.com).
If you have rowed before and have any questions or you are interested in joing the senior team, please email our Senior Men's Captain, Paul (firstname.lastname@example.org).
