Welcome to the Bath Anime and Manga Society's book collection, an ever-expanding organism that evolved to save our members from the boredom of academic papers and course notes!

If you would like to take out a book, please let one of our committee members know, we will make sure to get it to you quickly. You can easily find us on our Discord server, so don't be afraid to send one of us a message!

All books must be returned by the end of the semester. Please do not pass any of our books on, as we may ask you to replace any lost or damaged copies.

History of the Society

The Sci-Fi, Fantasy & Anime Society was founded way back in 1998 and is now in its 25th year!

In its short lifetime, SFA has won several awards from the Student's Union:

• 1998-1999: Best New Society; Worst Event (back when the awards weren't taken seriously)
• 1999-2000: Best Website
• 2000-2001: Treasurer's Special Award
• 2001-2002: Best Website
• 2002-2003: Best General Society

The society was founded by a small group of friends who wanted to show some good films and get together for social events. Throughout our first year we gained more members, showed a wider variety of films and generally strove to do what our members wanted. For our efforts we received the "Best New Society" award. We also received the "Worst Event" award for our disastrous first ever screening (without the films we wanted to show and no idea how to use the equipment it was doomed to failure).

In 2022, the society was rebranded to the Bath Anime and Manga Society (BAMS), omitting the sci-fi and fantasy aspects in order to focus solely on anime and manga.

Every year we aim to be both bigger and better than before, building on the success of previous years.
