We're Back!

It was great to meet everyone during freshers week and at the fresher's fair yesterday and well done to everyone who knew their cassavas from their celeriac!

We were getting a lot of love from the cakes we had out so we will have put the recipes up on this page. Check out the Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies that Charlie made or the Oaties that Su made.

Taster Session

Thanks to everyone who came to the first Veg Soc of the year, we started the year off with a Veg Soc classic the three bean mexican chilli. See you next week!

Week 2

Second meal of the year we had leek and potato soup with crusty bread, it great to see so many people turn up. If anyone has a recipe they want to suggest or to cook for us let us know at: socs-veg@lists.bath.ac.uk

Week 3

3 weeks in already! This week we were shifted to a late afternoon snack rather than our usual evening meal. Thanks to everyone who still was able to make it and enjoy the cous cous salad we made.

Week 4

This week was another Veg Soc tradition of pumpkin soup. Unfortunately, we are kicked out the chaplaincy next week so we had to bring pumpkin day more than a week before Halloween. Lots of great soup and some funky carvings!

Week 5

It is with regret that I report that Veg Soc wasn't on this week because of a double booking in the chaplaincy :( . We did however set a stall up for GoGreen week, encouraging people to reduce their meat intake and to stop food waste in general, including top tips on how to re-plant you sprouted onions.

Week 6

Back in full force this week with a Squash Curry cooked by Josh which went down very well! We also had evening entertainment with Travis giving us a quiz finished off  with a controversial vegetable round, come back next week to find out which team won!

Week 7

This week we had a yummy vegetable tagine. Well done to teams, Avacado and Plant Power for winning the quiz.

Week 8

Loads of vegetable green curry this week.

Week 9

The weather has definitely headed northwards! Don't fear, Veg Soc has you covered with some simple yet delicately warming risotto.

Week 10

Su stepped up this week and made us some strange sounding Italian thing, topped off with some homemade brownies Joanna brought along. It was good to see a good selection of Christmas jumpers being sported today. Fantastic way to finish off the semester at Veg Soc. Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for the Christmas meal, don't forget to get your order in!

Semester 2!

Week 1

Welcome back, first week of semester 2 the committee are making some Curried Aubergine.

Week 2

This week was our pancake special, pancakes of all shapes and sizes with all kinds of fillings were had. Pancakes will be back next year no doubt!

Week 3

Shawn cooked up some roasted broccoli soup, interested in how he did it? Check out the recipe.

Week 4

We dug up an old favourite tonight, taco salad based on the recipe from a few year ago, gotta love a good lime segment smothered in Sriracha chilli sauce! Photo credit to Alex for his beautiful food arrangement.

Week 5

This week we had some Mexican Quisado served with some cheesy quesadillas, cooked by #jamwithdan. Thanks Dan and good luck with the election!

Week 6

This week we had a joint meeting with bake soc, lots and lots of cakes!

Week 7

Joanna cooked us up a leek and potato soup this week, but with a few different twists to our usual leek and potato. See you after easter!

Week 8

Su treated us to some tofu this week, adapted from this vegan fried rice recipie.

Week 9

We could quite get black beens but a unique blend of azuki and black eyed beans was just as good, spicy bean rice adapted from this recipe.

Week 10

This was handover week, thanks to the new committee for cooking for us!

Week 11

The epic finale, mass cooking of all sorts of ingredients went down this week. From fennel to tinned spinach, we had it all! Great end and to a great year. Thanks for coming this year, come back next year for more veggie fun! (There is some more pictures up in the galleries on the veg soc homepage)
