Coaching Mentorship Scheme

Are you looking to become a coach? Would you like to diversify your sporting portfolio, interacting with coaches and sportspeople in a competitive environment? Would you like to gain hours of volunteering, whilst becoming qualified, and being given incentives and opportunitites to learn from successful coaches?

The University of Bath Volleyball club are offering you the opportunity to do all of the above. We are looking for driven, organised people to put through our mentorship scheme for the 2020-2021 season. You don't need to have any volleyball experience, just a passion for sport and an understanding of the positive impact it can have on people.

As a part of this initiative, we will be pairing you with one of our senior coaches, who will help you plan and deliver both recreational and competitive sessions in sitting, indoor and/or beach volleyball. This aims to be a comprehensive introduction to coaching volleyball, that allows you to focus on the areas that you want. The scheme lasts for two semesters, where you will help coach two sessions per week. You will be invited to coaching meetings and coaching development sessions that will give you ideas for sessions and drills. As you become more experienced, you will be given sessions to lead, and feedback from club members and senior coaches. For those that are involved in performance team coaching, you will also be given the opportunity to travel to, and coach at matches. As a coaching mentee, you will be able to apply for funding to become a Level 1 Volleyball England Coach. You will also be given coaching kit and the opportunity to become a senior coach in the following seasons.
