Socials are a huge part of ChaOS. I met my now best friends through ChaOS socials! They are a great way to get to know your fellow musicians outside of rehearsals and to meet new people from different ensembles, so please do come along and make the most of them! ChaOS Ensembles often will go to the SU after rehearsals to chat, relax and perhaps have a drink (whether it be alcoholic or not). After all, the more you get to know people within your ensemble and the society, the better you will play!
Any information on upcoming socials will be directed through various methods: ensemble managers, e-mail, Facebook etc. so you will always be up-to-date!
Fresher’s Week is the perfect opportunity to try new things and meet like-minded people. Come along to our Taster Day this year to experience the ensembles that we offer. There will also be a Welcome Social following shortly, aimed at all Freshers and returning students- a great way to get to know all of the people in ChaOS!
We like to have a variety of socials and last year, we held a few ChaOS film nights in lecture halls on campus. Who doesn’t like watching films on a big screen with their friends? These nights are always good fun and hopefully we'll have more of these this year too.
We like to have Pub and Club nights throughout the year. A ChaOS tradition is the Pub Golf social which was awesome last year! We also had a scavenger hunt social last year where teams attempted to do different challenges at each pub. There’ll always be non-alcoholic options on all socials, so it is inclusive for everyone.
Every year we have a Christmas Meal and an End of Year Meal. These meals are always a great event to relax and celebrate the end of the semester with your friends.
Last year at Christmas we had an Ice Skating / Glow in the Dark Mini Golf social which was a real hit. Hopfully we will do this social again this year!
If you have any ideas or suggestions for socials, it would be great to hear them. You can just come and talk to out social secretary Lizzie McCaffrey during rehearsals or email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or message her on Facebook.
