Chair

 

Club Development Officer

  • Work with Chair to set targets and develop the club over the academic year. There will also be support available from the SU Sport Development Coordinator.
  • Establish an effective partnership by liaising with SU Sport/DSDR and your club to deliver appropriate activities meeting strategic aims.
  • Work with clubs to achieve Club Mark status.
  • Ensure the recreational offer is appropriate to the club.
  • Take lead on investigating sponsorship opportunities for the club as a whole and for individual teams.

 

Kit Secretary

  • Ensures all equipment and kit is ordered and distributed to each team at the start of the year.
  • Manage equipment and kit issues throughout the year.
  • Responsible for the promotion and sales of old kits to generate funds for the club.

 

Men’s Football Rep

  • Primary responsibility is to represent the BUCS Men’s players on the committee.
  • Communicating with coaches and players to raise any concerns.
  • Ensuring all BUCS teams feel well supported throughout the season to succeed.
  • Ensure trials run smoothly at the start of the season.

 

Men’s Futsal Rep

  • Ensure the Men’s BUCS teams feel they have the best conditions to achieve the best results possible.
  • Coordinate trial sessions and recruit players at the start of the year.
  • Coordinating training sessions each week.
  • Maintain regular contact with the committee and SU in case of issues.
  • Work with the captain of each team to try and get the best out of each player.

 

Recreational Football and Futsal Coordinator

  • Represents the views of numerous recreational coordinators and recreational groups within our club, as well as the Referees Coordinator.

  • Ensures that each coordinator feels they are getting sufficient support and guidance from the committee and SU to run their groups effectively.
  • Works closely with the Social Media Coordinator to promote recreational events and fixtures.

 

Social Media Coordinator

  • General management of the club’s social media accounts (main Instagram and Facebook accounts).
  • Weekly posts on Tuesdays about games the next day/Wednesdays morning with the fixtures.
  • Works closely with the Welfare and Inclusivity Officer to promote events related to wellbeing and inclusivity.
  • Responding to direct messages from other universities and coaches regarding all matters, ensuring that any correspondence occurs in a timely fashion/information is then communicated to the relevant captains or members of the committee.
  • Design of posts on each platform.

 

Treasurer

 

Welfare and inclusivity officer

  • Ensure all members of the club are aware that you are there to speak to if they are struggling with any aspect of life, whether that be university, football, home life, etc.
  • Ensure all members are aware of the SU support tools available to them.
  • Work closely with the Social Media Coordinator in promoting events related to wellbeing and inclusivity.
  • Organise events alongside other committee members to raise awareness for key causes and under-represented groups.
  • Liaise with other committee members and societies to organise campaigns and events linked to improving attitudes towards inclusivity in the club.
  • Work with the Chair to manage the course of action if any incidents worthy of disciplinary action occur.
  • Promote and arrange events related to promoting the well-being of members of the club.
  • Take lead on coordinating the Inclusivity Award and construct an inclusivity calendar.

 

Women’s Football Rep

  • Coordinate pre-season training and manage attendance.
  • Organising a coach for both BUCS teams and the Development Squad.
  • Coordinate trials at the beginning of the year and recruit players.
  • Manage training slots each week.
  • Work with other committee members to organise tournaments throughout the year to promote inclusivity and participation in women’s football.
  • Represent the views of BUCS and recreational players on the committee.
  • Ensure that the development team have as many friendlies as possible and feel a key part of the women’s club.

 

Women’s Futsal Rep

  • Ensuring the BUCS team runs smoothly as well as offering opportunities for recreational players.
  • Coordinating trials and open sessions in fresher’s week.
  • Organising a coach for the season.
  • Working with the men’s rep to organise training times.
  • Working alongside the captain to complete team sheets and organise away travel (often trains).
  • Organizing a recreational/development training session/running the session.

 

Postgraduate Rep

  • Provide insight to the committee from the perspective of postgraduate students, representing their needs within the club.
  • To continually look to develop the club to provide more inclusive offers for postgraduate students.
  • To assist coordinators in any day-to-day activities which are aimed at postgraduate members.
  • To act as a contact point for postgraduate members to raise concerns, suggest ideas and request information from the committee.
