FW25 - Climbing Taster Sessions
Join us on Wednesday 24th September for a discounted climbing taster session at TCA The Mothership climbing centre in Bristol! This is a great opportunity to give climbing a go, familiarise yourself with a local climbing centre and meet other like-minded people!
Tasters are running all afternoon, and there are Postgraduate-specific slots available in the evening. You can meet us outside the Library on campus (Google Maps) to walk down and get the train with a member of committee. You could also join the group at Bath Spa railway station (Google Maps) or at the climbing centre (Google Maps). Please try to be on time, but if you miss your walk-down or train time, you can wait for the next group and still get into the climbing centre.
Booking a slot is easy, just follow these steps:
- Choose a time slot from the table below which works for you.
- Book the correct time with the climbing centre, using this link: https://climber.hellocapitan.com/tca/schedule/events/54/?event_types=2750&day=2025-09-24.
- Meet us in front of the library, at the station or at the climbing centre at the correct times. Look out for our committee members in orange t-shirts, and make sure you arrive a few minutes early - these are departure times.
- Climb for as long you like! The centre closes at 9pm and there will be committee members there the whole time.
The daytime sessions cost £7 (which includes entry and shoe hire). You will also need to buy a train ticket to Bristol (£6.85 with a railcard). Postgrad sessions in the evening cost £9. Absolutely no prior climbing experience is necessary; there will be plenty of other Bath students around to help with anything.
We recommend keeping an eye on the Mountaineering Instagram where any changes or updates will be posted. Anyone can join the open or postgrad sessions (undergrads can book onto a postgrad slot if you are busy in the afternoon!). If the sessions book out, you can still join us at any of these times but will be expected to pay full price on arrival at TCA.
