The University of Bath Rowing Club caters for a wide range of abilities, from recreational rowing all the way through to International and Olympic success!
Training Facilities
On-Water Training
The club benefits from over 4 km of rowable river on the Avon, a short 15’ drive from campus and just 10’ from the heart of the city. The stretch features long straights ideal for technical refinement, race-preparation pieces and exciting side-by-side action.
The club’s unique vicinity to the water allows for frequent on-water sessions, enabling athletes to build technique, rhythm, and boat speed throughout the season. Whenever rivers around the country flood, we have the opportunity to go and train on the Gloucester canals 45’ away, boating from Wycliffe.

Land Training
Land training takes place at the Team Bath Sports Training Village at the heart of campus, a world‑class environment shared with elite athletes; recognised by UK-Sport as the first of eight Elite Training Centres nationwide. Here, rowers have access to fully equipped performance gyms, structured ergometer testing and monitoring, and professional support that ensures safe, progressive physical development.
Our rowers on the performance student-athlete programmes also get access to individualised support such as physio, hydrotherapy, nutritional advice and free access to the Team Bath Gym & Fitness Centre.

Equipment & Boathouse Development
Our ever-growing fleet includes top-class Filippi racing shells in most boat classes. This year alone we have purchased new Filippi Eights for both the Men's and Women's squads, as well as a Filippi men's four/quad and pair.
The construction of our new boathouse is on track to be completed in the 2025-26 season; offering improved racking capacity, equipment storage and athlete-focused areas.
