Run, Jump and Throw!
Our successful athletics history is incredibly exciting for those applying to our university. The University of Bath Athletics Team of 2015/16 squad has been blessed with immensely dedicated and talented individuals and it is no wonder this the colours of Blue and Gold were feared at both the indoor and outdoor British University Championships (BUCS). Whether you are a national champion or you have never set foot on a track, the club is open to all.
There is no doubt these outstanding performances was largely due to the quality of the physiotherapy, strength and conditioning and nutritional support offered here at the University- services available to all our athletes.
Cameron Chalmers was a fresher with astonishing impact, placing first at both the indoor and outdoor championships over the 400m. Cameron gained selection for the World Junior championships in Poland where he made it to the semi-finals. Amongst the women, Jennifer Nesbitt was another new addition who made her brilliant debut appearance at BUCS outdoors, striding away from the field to comfortably take the 5000m title. Our success has not been limited to just running events. High Jumper Pippa Rogan and Long jumper Joshua Olawore both obtaining Gold Medals at the indoor BUCS.
