Open to PGR students who would like to learn how to engage older people with research. You’ll be given the challenge of devising and delivering a short (5–10 minute) presentation about your research, about why it matters and its (potential) impact, to a group of older people without using powerpoint slides*. Instead, you’ll need to choose an object either associated with, or that encapsulates, your research and present this as a ‘hook’ for your talk. To help prepare you the Postgraduate Coordinator and the Volunteer Support Coordinator, who are supporting this event, will lead a practice session for you. You must bring your object with you to this practice session. You’ll present your object and research to the Age UK BANES Culture Club at St John’s Foundation Meeting Room, Bath, on Thursday 25th January 2018 [2-4pm].
