What is the issue about?

Students are continuing to feel the impacts of the cost-of-living crisis, with students reporting cutting down the size of meals or skipping them altogether, and nearly 50% of students worrying about potential negative impacts of cost of living on their final degree grade (TWST). The pantry was relaunched by The SU in October 2025 and was highly impactful.  However, due to limited resources, opening hours were reduced and the Pantry was closed for semester 2 despite continued demand. 

What are we asking the University to do?

We are asking the University for funding so that the SU is able to relaunch a basic needs hub to support students with increasingly difficult cost of living.
