BUCS Hockey
Our top 4 Men's teams and top 4 Women's teams compete in BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport), giving a wide range of players to compete against opposing universities for a chance to win leagues and cup competitions.
Current
Our Men's 1s and Women's 1s compete in the highest possible leagues Men's Premier (National) and ICG Women's Premier (National) respectively competing with the best universities across the country, with our Men achieving a brilliant 5th place this season and our Ladies reaching the National Vase final in 2022-23.
Our Men's Couples* compete in Men's Premier (South), finishing a superb 4th place in their debut season in this league, having been promoted in 2022-23. The Women's Couples* won the Western 2A league, meaning they are promoted West 1 for the coming season. The Women's Couples won the Western Conference Cup this year, meaning they finished unbeaten.
Our Men's 3s also secured promotion in the Western 2B league this season, meaning they too will be competing in the West 1 league for 2024-25. Our Ladies' 3s have also enjoyed considerable success in recent years, competing against the Ladies Couples in the Western 2A league this season in two close matches, and will be seeking promotion next season!
Our Men's 4s compete at West 2 level, and from 2024-25 so will our Ladies’ 4s, following an outstanding season which saw them crowned champions of Western 3A. This clearly shows the strength in depth of our club across all BUCS teams, and we hope to celebrate more promotion success in the coming season.
