Recreational Coaching Programme
One of the most popular activities within our club is our recreational coaching programme, which offers three levels of coaching (from beginner to advanced) and takes place on a semesterly basis, with Semester 1 courses taking place from October-January and Semester 2 courses running from February-May. A course consists of 10 1-hour long sessions which take place every week (with a few exceptions when the courts are being used for tournaments), at a cost of £50 per semester. All sessions are lead by two coaches who each hold (at minimum) a Level 3 LTA Coaching qualification, and the course will follow a set theme in order to help develop your game across all areas.

Your £50 course fee must be paid in full at the STV reception prior to your first session. If you are unsure as to which session you would best fit into please see the info below:
The Tennis Xpress course covers the basics of tennis. Ideal for those just starting or for those that have had no coaching before but have played socially.
Club course is for people that have played a fair amount of tennis in the past but dropped out for one reason or another and are now looking to get into competition again. They should have received some coaching (either at a club or at school) and have a reasonable understanding of the technique and tactics of the game.
Development is invitation only and is for players who played to a high standard at school (county, regional) and are regularly competing with the intention of moving into the BUCS teams. Players will be invited to join this squad based upon their performance at BUCS team trials. Players in the advanced squad will have access to a strength and conditioning programme in addition to the tennis, and will also represent the University against other universities in the region.
