REC TENNIS IS BACK... and better than ever before!
Tennis does not always have to be about competitive match play and can provide many other ways to relax, make new friends and have a laugh! Coaching, Touch Tennis and Recreational Matchplay are all good ways of making new friends whilst also improving your game. All this, along with club nights out and pool nights at the Plug, the Tennis Club is sure to be a safe bet if you want to have fun, whether you're a complete beginner or the next Rafa!
Weekly Wednesday Rec Sessions
Each Wednesday from 1-4pm, members of the Tennis Club have exclusive use of the outdoor courts which include 4 clay and 4 hard courts. These sessions will involve coaching, tennis games, tournaments, as well as social hitting! these sessions are also available just for a knockabout with your friends, and they're a great way of meeting fellow tennis players and making new friends.
As ever, there will be the Sunday Box League for fun, weekend matches. This is primarily about having a knockabout against others of your ability, and the winner of each semester gets their hands on a University Tennis Hoodie!
There are also hitting group facebook chats, for improvers, intermediates and advanced players. If you'd like to learn more, e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
Inspired by Tennis, Touch Tennis follows the same basic rules but on a smaller court, with a smaller racket and a sponge ball. The game's addictiveness comes mainly from the way it 'levels the field' amongst different players and genders, meaning that irrespective of your ability, you can play! There will be Touch Tennis tournaments running throughout the year.
Please note you must be a member of the Tennis Club to access all of these!
