Whitewater

If you've ever thought about trying out whitewater or if you're a already a paddler looking to get your adrenaline fix, we're the club for you! We've got numerous trips over the course of the year to many different locations; in the last four years we've been paddling in Dartmoor, the Lake District, Cardiff International Whitewater Centre and North Wales as well as our annual trip to the French alps!

Beginners Whitewater October
This is the place to start if you are new to paddling! It's a day trip where leaders will take you down fun grade 2/3 rivers. For safety, there are a limited number of places which always go fast, so keep your eyes out for signups!

Cardiff International Whitewater Centre
CIWW provides an excellent training ground to practice skills for 'proper' rivers. The course runs at different flow rates to suit different abilities. CIWW trips will be run on a more ad-hoc basis, and we will likely have one day trip each semester. If you want to check out the pump rate go to their website here.

Inter Semester Break (ISB)
During the week long break in February between exams and the new semester we head out to catch the best of the whitewater season. Its our second longest trip of the year, spending a week at a bunkhouse in either North Wales of the Lake district. If you're considering coming on our Alps trip this is a really good development opportunity!

Alps

The Alps trip is run immediately after exams at the end of the Academic Year, and involves two and a half weeks hot sun, kayaking and pure bliss. We meet up with around 10 other universities to camp in the South of France in the Durance Valley - a Mecca for kayakers. We usually bring professional coach Paul Smith out with us to provide White Water Safety and Rescue Training and White Water Leader Training.
