Student Volunteering Week

We had a fantastic Student Volunteering Week this year and were really impressed by how many students got involved.
There was a different theme each day which highlighted the benefits of volunteering and celebrated the achievements of student volunteers. See what we got up to below...

 

Events & Activities held for Student Volunteering Week at The SU Bath 

Monday 13 Feb ~ Wellbeing

  • Random Acts of Kindness Board, up in the SU all week. The week kicked off with the launch of a new V Team Project: V Kind. “We aim to create a domino effect of wellbeing through acts of kindness on campus and beyond!”

Tuesday 14 Feb ~ Recognition & Community

  • Valentine's Photo Booth – the loved was shared in photos and all profits went to RAG.
  • Enactus – Little Bags of Happiness Sale
  • Volunteer of the Month: Volunteer of the Month celebrates students who are giving their time to others while studying for their degree

Wednesday 15 Feb ~ Employability

  • 'Volunteer your Way to Employment' workshop 
    The Careers Department hosted a volunteering-focused online session about how to enhance your CV and talk about volunteering experiences in interviews.
  • V Code – Celebrating their recent Coding Bootcamp in partnership with Mighty Girls, teaching new skills and showcasing careers in STEM for women.
  • V Clean litter pick from Dorchester Street to Green Park, 2.30pm.

Thursday 16 Feb ~ Sustainability

  • Share and Repair Café with V Repair. The amazing technical and sewing repairers fixed all sorts of items to extend their life.
  • Bath University Boob Team hosted a Clay Making workshop in collaboration with the Fine Art Society

Friday 17 Feb ~ Leadership

 

From all of us here at the SU, we want to say a huge "Thank You!" to all of our volunteers. Amazing things are achieved for the local community because of the hard work and dedication students put in to supporting good causes.
