What We Do

Ever wondered what it's like to fly? At the University of Bath Gliding Club we live to go gliding. All are welcome to join us, from the absolute beginner to the experienced pilot.

In learning to glide, you can experience the many different sides of the sport. Whether it is the thrill of soaring over the countryside, the excitement of competing at the inter-university competition, or the sense of achievement of learning the skills necessary to go solo, the Gliding club can help you achieve it.

The Gliding Club flies at the Bath Wilts and North Dorset Gliding Club (BWND GC) based about 25 miles south of Bath. Members from the University Gliding Club are often found there on Saturdays and Sundays.

Reasons to Join Us

Instruction is free and provided by fully qualified instructors. Flying time in two seat gliders is great value and flying time in the single seat gliders is free, you just pay for the launch!

Everyone is welcome to join, from the complete beginner to the fully qualified pilot. It doesn't matter whether you want to learn to fly solo or simply come along for one flight to taste the thrill of soaring amongst the clouds. An experience unlike anything else!
