Contemporary Choir is the University of Bath's Gospel, A Capella, Soul and Pop Choir, although we branch out into all sorts of genres. We are a lively and fun-loving bunch, welcoming all students of every ability to come and make a fantastic sound, sing some great songs, and meet new people. If you want to find a bunch of people to sing with each week without worrying that you "won't be good enough", then Contemporary Choir is for you!

We do have sheet music to learn from, but a lot of members don't read sheet music, so we learn a lot "by ear" as well. However, there is no sheet music during performances! This makes performances bursting with energy and makes us the only 'no ability required' group in ChaOS. To add rhythm and life to our songs, we often sway and clap in time which is fantastic and always met with enthusiasm by all (on and off stage).

If you've ever wanted to sing then come along and give it a go. Don't worry if you've never sung before, Contemporary Choir's relaxed, fun and sociable atmosphere will get rid of all your singing fears for good. There really is no such thing as "I can't sing"!

Previously we have sung in a wide range of venues and settings, including the Honeypot Charity Christmas Concert at Winchester Cathedral, a charity gig at the Bath Forum (alongside the Bath Community Gospel Choir) and many gigs in our own Arts Lecture Theatre. Last year we also collaborated with the Orchestra to sing a medley from Aladdin.

Our repertoire last year included several brilliant songs, such as Toto's "Africa", Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You", "Wait For It" from the musical Hamilton and Tina Turner's "River Deep Mountian High."

Not a singer? We are also looking for a backing band to support Contemporary Choir during gigs. This will hopefully at least include drums, keyboard, bass, and lead guitar with hopefully some brass in there and anything else on top!
